Karen Frederick

Karen received her Bachelor of Science degree in 1984 in biology from Ohio Northern University, her Bachelor of Science in pharmacy from Medical University of South Carolina in 1988, and Master in biological science from Bowling Green State University in 2006. She is currently a Pharmacy Doctorate candidate at Shenandoah University.

Before entering into higher education, Karen worked as a registered pharmacist. Her passion for working with patients and educating them about their health care, inspired Karen to enter into education.

Over the course of her career, Karen has taught health science students at both two year and four year institutions. Her repertoire of courses include anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, microbiology, and pharmacology. As the instructor and program coordinator for the health sciences at Marygrove, Karen’s focus is to provide students with the knowledge and skills they will need in the health care field by incorporating hand-on activities and case studies in the classroom.

Karen is a member of the Toledo Academy of Pharmacy, Human Anatomy and Physiology Society, and National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions

When she isn’t in the classroom, Karen enjoys touring around the United States and Europe with her husband on their Harley Davidson.
